Interesting, though I was astonished to read that there are restrictions on owning center fire rifles in Israel! It seems like every picture I see from there has a guy or gal with an Uzi or Galil across their back!!!

That are GI rifles. Funny enough - it is quite problematic to get a shotgun in Israel. So, hunting almost nonexistent in between Jews. But Arabs, can have those and hunt. Weird.

The trick is that Arabs are:

1. More likely to be rural dwellers.

2. Don't have a religion that prohibits hunting for sport.

But yes, gun licensing in Israel is *crazy*. I've written on the subject in the past.
