Having seen endemic corruption in the USSR first-hand, my father was disappointed to find a milder version of the same in American city government. Taxation without proper accountability, trading of favors, the usual. After a while, he decided to do something about it -- starting with running for city council.
His web site tells in detail the problems he discovered and his proposed solutions. Ted's idea of accountable government is based on transparency and voter input. As an IT professional with decades of experience, he understands well how to organize and manage complex systems. As an American citizen enthusiastic about the principles on which this country was founded, he is also willing to put his time and energy into applying good management principles to solving the problems at hand.
Please help me popularize his web site in the mass media, especially in Minnesota. Ted is running without the backing of either incumbents or any special interests -- only for the benefit of the Edina taxpayers who'd like to see greater accountability. The health of American politics depends in part on the infusion of fresh blood -- and Ted would be that reforming agency!
Ted Volk has my endorsement!
