Pump action? Box mag I assume - something like the Saiga-12 mag?

Mon, Jan. 3rd, 2011 05:56 am (UTC)

Pump, dual tube mags. The problem with box magazines and shotguns is that eventually the pressure deforms ammo out of round and the gun fails to chamber. Tube or drum mags work better.

Has anyone here shot the thing? I auditioned a Kel-Tec handgun and I found it to be only ok.

Also, what is its stated purpose? I'm guessing it's not a hunting weapon for today's super animals.

Mon, Jan. 3rd, 2011 06:27 am (UTC)

What purpose? To have? Because it's cool? :-D

Mon, Jan. 3rd, 2011 06:20 am (UTC)

How big are magazines? Is there any reasonable way to add side saddle shell holder? How do you load it when shouldered?

Can't find it on keltec's site, - are they selling it?

Mon, Jan. 3rd, 2011 06:26 am (UTC)

Ok, I just read that each tube holds 7 rounds, - guess external holder is not really a priority add-on.

Mon, Jan. 3rd, 2011 06:21 am (UTC)

Bottom ejecting I assume?

Man, I can't wait to take one to the trap range. :)

Any chance you've got video of this beast in action?

Scott M. McDonald: Bullpup in action

Mon, Jan. 3rd, 2011 06:42 am (UTC)

Why yes, I would like to trade in my Mossberg bullpup for one of these, thank you for asking. :)

Mon, Jan. 3rd, 2011 06:55 am (UTC)

just one? they look to be ambidextrous :)

Mon, Jan. 3rd, 2011 06:46 am (UTC)

Neostead-style shotgun?

Mon, Jan. 3rd, 2011 11:06 am (UTC)

Mon, Jan. 3rd, 2011 06:59 am (UTC)

If this was gas piston & semi-auto I'd really be enthused as it is I like it but not wild. I hope too this is truly ambidextrous, having gone through shoulder rehab has forced me to be very aware of weak hand drills.

Mon, Jan. 3rd, 2011 06:52 pm (UTC)

The fact that it is a pump is the only thing that keeps it from being an AW in fascist states like mine.

Mon, Jan. 3rd, 2011 07:17 am (UTC)

Well, guess I don't need to spend nights crying that I can't get a neostead anymore.

Mon, Jan. 3rd, 2011 07:25 am (UTC)

Mon, Jan. 3rd, 2011 07:59 am (UTC)

Well that's making me rethink my near-term gun purchase plans :)

Mon, Jan. 3rd, 2011 08:27 am (UTC)

It must be said; that thing looks MEAN. >:D

Mon, Jan. 3rd, 2011 09:25 am (UTC)

It looks a bit like sci-fi blaster))) Tubes `re really better that boxes, and even drums are better. Dreamin of 30-round drum for my Saiga12, thereёку no such in our stores in russia

Mon, Jan. 3rd, 2011 10:32 am (UTC)

Mon, Jan. 3rd, 2011 11:55 am (UTC)

Mon, Jan. 3rd, 2011 12:57 pm (UTC)

Wasnt there a russian prototype of this floating around about 15 years ago.

My prediction: Buy one when it comes out because the BATFags will declare it a DD and it will go the way of Streetsweepers.

Mon, Jan. 3rd, 2011 01:23 pm (UTC)

Are you thinking about the South African Neostead?

And I agree with Eviltwin, buy it ASAP because it will be declared a Destructive Device. It might not, but hey you never know

Mon, Jan. 3rd, 2011 02:45 pm (UTC)

That would actually be a very good test case for challenging the NFA restrictions on "non-sporting" shotguns, now that the Supreme Court has ruled that the Second Amendment encompasses firearms for self-defense...

One thing though, I hope the furniture is heavier and more sturdy than say, the Sub2k. The 12ga on polymer, well, I just want it to last without warping and cracking.....that and if its too light it would kick like a mule anyway

Tue, Jan. 4th, 2011 01:37 am (UTC)

This is exactly my concern. Two plastic halves held together with screws is fine for .223, or 22 mag, or 5.7 mm... but I have doubts about its ability to holds up to years of 12 gauge mag abuse.

Mon, Jan. 3rd, 2011 02:15 pm (UTC)

availability date?

Mon, Jan. 3rd, 2011 02:25 pm (UTC)

its keltec.... so in about 3 years you'll see it hit production and then about 5 years from now theyll have actually produced enough to be available.

Mon, Jan. 3rd, 2011 02:24 pm (UTC)

Wow. That is one uuuuuugly gun. I'd still like to try one to see how well it works. I've owned a single Kel-tec, a Sub2K that took Beretta 92 mags. It was only so-so reliable and I couldn't seem to shoot it very accurately. But the guy I sold it too seems pleased enough with it so maybe it was just me.

Mon, Jan. 3rd, 2011 02:32 pm (UTC)
(Anonymous): Did you get a chance to shoot it?

Must be a bit heavy with a full ammo load.

Mon, Jan. 3rd, 2011 02:40 pm (UTC)

Mon, Jan. 3rd, 2011 04:54 pm (UTC)
