It does, but this photo is for KT and I needed one without anything optional attached. Besides, I can't afford a 3.5x ACOG and 4x eye relief is not enough. I will put an Aimpoint on it for now and probably flip-up front sight. Not sure about bothering with a rear.
I can find you a 3.5 ACOG for much less, and available right now, but they are still pricey. You'll still drop around $1000.
I'm not sure about bothering with much of a rear BUIS either. I experimented with putting a BUIS on my MSAR STG556 and it not only looked goofy, it had an insanely short sight radius. My Glock 17L had a longer sight radius than the rifle did!
I am reluctant to spend money right now given the unanticipated expense for the 5D2. But let me consider.
The post and notch sights built into the standard MSAR scope work surprisingly well up close. They are close range sights and work well as such. Not adjustable but the intended range is under 20m and they may be adequate for that.
I've had a few folks interested in buying my P7M13, and the one that seemed most interested didn't have cash. If the value is similar, maybe he'd like to buy me an RFB on his credit card, and trade...
(legal disclaimer: yes, I'm aware of the rules regarding "straw man" purchases - he would have to pay for the rifle, but the FFL would do the 4473 for my info)
AK bolt carrier noise is bad enough with conventional stock. In a bullpup, it will be extra loud. Also, most bullpups have lousy triggers -- not so this one.
I'd have waited except that I am not sure of future availability of bullpups in general. Wouldn't put it past the govt. creatures to declare them non-kosher.
"AK bolt carrier noise is bad enough with conventional stock. In a bullpup, it will be extra loud."
True enough, although the Saiga 12ga that I've played with seemed quieter than typical. May vary from unit to unit, or may be a matter of tolerances from a given manufacturer.

Yeah, I have a Bushmaster M17S, which has a "passable" trigger. If I was not planning on selling that off at some point, I'd probably clearance the channel the connector rod runs through, and install some bearings to properly support it. I expect that - and maybe adding bearings at the trigger - would really improve the feel, immensely. I'm itching to try the RFB.

I expect they'd be more likely to increase the minimum overall length, rather than outlawing bullpups, in general. I'm not overly concerned about the overall length, in a battle rifle. I'd be more interested in the longer-barrel version of the RFB, anyway. (ie, I'm interested in a moderate overall length, and like the added barrel length that a bullpup can attain)
In a shotgun, I'm much more concerned with keeping the overall length down, so that I can use it for home defense easily. That's where a bullpup design is more critical. Unfortunately, I'm not aware of any commercially-available, magazine-fed, semi-auto shotguns. So I guess I need to build one. I have a few ideas about cutting down on the noise level - for one, I'm considering building a composite stock, which would dampen a lot of it.
It's definitely not far-fetched to say that. In addition to the minimum barrel length of 16" for rifles and shotguns in Finland, there's a minimum overall length of 840 mm (33"). Effectively it bans many bullpups and models with folding and/or telescopic stocks.
There's a legal category for shorter models, but getting a license for those is practically impossible for most people. It was already difficult in 2005 when I got my 14.5" AR-15.
Overall length of the carbine version is 26", which is right at the Federal minimum. The barrel is actually 18", which is 2" longer than the Federal minimum.

I think maybe most bullpups (with the possible exception of the FS2000) just don't go well with iron sights.

Except you keep taunting me with pictures, and I do so love bullpups...
Maybe I should just buy a Saiga 12ga and build a bullpup stock for it while I wait on the RFB - I've always wanted to do that...
