Hi Oleg!
A few years ago I´ve reached via mail requsting your permission to use your pictures, to promote the right to bear arms here in Argentina. In these days that right seems again facing a clear and present danger.

(BTW, half of the argentine people is of italian descent)

I should have recognized the caption as being Spanish/Portugese, having made a billboard for Brazil a while ago.

I just got used to seeing Italian translations lately and wasn't fully awake when typing.

Does that mean gun rights are actually becoming an issue in Italy and Argentina, or just 2-3 guys with blogs posting in the wilderness?

Well, I´'ll try to make it short:
Since 2003 when Néstor Kirchner took office (in some way vindicating the '70s leftist guerrillas) many policies have been aplied to restrict the right to keep and bear arms in Argentina.
There's nothing as well established and powerful as the NRA, but we are not just a few guys.. but it´s quite hard build opposition against a political system focused in anti-arms policies
