...WHat, pray tell, is an AKM47? I know what an AK-47 is, I know what an AKM is, but AKM47?

...And that is the only ctitical thing I have to say about your pictures. Excellent work, once again!

AN AKM-47 is a semi-auto AK-47.

Not really. Classic AK/AKM are both select fire, but I use the names as shorthand for AK47 semi-auto clone.

Fair enough - I've just always heard that the AKM is the semi-auto version designation.

Note the raised ridges on the cover of an AKM.

Oleg, there is no such thing as AKM-47. And while we here - there is no such thing as AK-47 either (on large scale of things). We have: AK, AKM, AK-74, AK-74M and AK-10X (X may be 1, 2, 3). Sure here also variants with folding stock and sometimes shortened barrel like AKMS and AK-74su. Indeed, all those guns are designed to be select-fire.
If you want to indicate semi-auto version of AK, well, I do not know what to suggest. May be "Saiga" - semiauto only sporter? Anyway all Russian made semiauto AK variants here in States are built on Saiga receivers.
