Is she supposed to be a professor? Not even the business majors and pre-law/law students I knew in University dressed up that much, unless it was for a job/scholarship/admission interview.

Eh.
"Why doesn't VT.EDU trust her with self-defense?" isn't punchy enough.
The first 2/3 are awesome.
I can't think of a clever payoff, but I think yours needs a bit more work.

Are you seriously going to argue that the fire poured onto the belltower by civilians and police during Whitmans shooting spree made NO DIFFERENCE?
Yes, it's true that he was able to continue shooting from the rainspouts. It's also true that none of the people shooting from the ground actually hit him with a bullet.
But there is a BIG difference between casually shooting from the tower unopposed and trying to continue engaging targets while ducking and hiding from a barrage of small-arms fire and stone chips, however ineffective.

I don't even know where to begin with this one....As callous as it may be by bringing up the subject, I can just picture Schumer, Feinstein and all "The Others" using this as some sort of twisted vindication that "guns are evil", completely (and conveniently) ignoring the fact that if more VT students were armed, the less dead there would probably be. Another sad fact is that, while there were probably many that defied campus law and did carry, there were probably hundreds more who WOULD'VE carried but were too afraid to go against campus policy for fear of expulsion.

I still live only a few miles from Columbine, and this happened basically on the anniversary (April 20th.) It instantly reminded me of how that incident may have played out differently had the teachers or school security guards been armed, just as the teachers in Israel are armed.

Even Turncoat McCain has already jumped on this, saying, "This doesn't change my view that the 2nd Amendment guarantees the right to carry arms. We just have to keep those guns in the hands of law-abiding citizens." Good job, McLiar, your support of gun registration, "background checks" and trying to make illegal the (lawful!) private sale of firearms really helped on this one, jackass! That's some of the most obnoxious, intellectually insulting and downright nauseating spin I've heard in a long time. At least the lefties usually make their anti-self-defense stance clear! You're just trying to play us for idiots, but I somehow think you're unaware of just how little you're really thought of in the gun-rights community!!!

A few rifles, mostly AR15 variants, M14, SU16 and misc. military surplus bolt actions. A few pistols (mostly Glocks, Kahrs, one 1911) and a couple of large frame revolvers (.22/.357) I have only one shotgun, a 20ga pump. I am trying to cut down on the number of types and chamberings to simplify training.

I don't know anything about OSA. Max Popenker would know some, I think.

Airplane vs. Campus
(Anonymous)
2007-04-17 02:00 pm UTC (link)
It makes no sense arming people on a plane. But it's a very controlled and tiny place. So no need to. Same as a courthouse. Little place and no advantage arming people. Just the contrary.
I don't apply that to a "large" place, like a campus.

So, your right to live is null and void in small places? Thousands of lives could not have been saved on 9/11 if the pilots, or some of the passengers, had been armed? Explain to us how armed pilots could NOT have stopped those planes from flying into those buildings. Then explain how and when the Constitution was declared null and void in a "tiny space".

That says/shows the following??

The school WILL TRUST a kid with:

A 6,000+ pound truck or High Performance Car

Toxic chemicals in Agriculture

Radioactive materials in Engineering

Explosives in Engineering (School has their own rock quarry)

High Voltage Electricity in Engineering

Possibly germs and viruses in Environmental Studies

Does the school have a medical/nursing program???
Then add "kids trust each other with their lives."

But they WON'T TRUST a kid with a .38 S&W Airweight or even a .25 Raven.
