Canon USA -- hoplophobes?
Seems Canon USA is against CHLs. Does anyone know details of this?

Dear Sirs,

An email is circulating the internet suggesting that it is Canon USA (Irving) company policy to violate your employee's privacy regarding the Second Amendment to the US Constitution, and if your employees choose to exercise that right by legally obtaining a concealed carry license.

At this point, this is hear-say and rumor, but it is a believable enough rumor for me to spend my support on other manufacturers products. There is enough competition in the marketplace that it will not be a struggle, or inconvenience to avoid Canon products.

Thank you for your time in reading this.

Gar Nelson

Dear Gar Nelson:

Thank you for contacting Canon product support.

Unfortunately, we here at the Care Center located in South East
Virginia have no knowledge of the policy you refer to. I would suggest writing a letter to Canon USA's Corporate Headquarters in Lake Success New York. They would be better suited for addressing your concerns. Their
address information is as follows:

Canon U.S.A., Inc.
One Canon Plaza
Lake Success, NY 11042

Please do not attempt to send an E-mail to them or to contact them by
telephone as we handle all incoming inquiries for these channels. Your
request must be sent in writing to the address I provided.

I apologize for any inconvenience this causes you. Please let us know
if we can be of any further assistance.

Sincerely,

Raymond

I am the current owner of an SLR digital camera as well as several
printers and multi-function products, for my small busness, from your
company. I am, however, for the first time, unhappy with Canon USA. I
have rescently been informed of your company policy of terminating
employees if they even apply for a CHL permit without informing the
company. This is a violation of privacy that I do not support. In fact I
deplore it so much, that I will be taking my busness elsewhere from now
on. It's a shame as Canon products are amont the best on the market, but
if you violate the privacy of your emloyees, you team so to speak, so
shockingly, how can I trust your company?
